Whether used in warehouses, healthcare facilities, food production areas, laboratories or commercial premises, it provides a durable, attractive and long-lasting finish designed to perform in the most demanding environments.
Chemical Resistance
Industrial and commercial floor markings are routinely exposed to contaminants including cleaning products, oils, fuels and industrial chemicals. A demarcation coating must therefore be capable of maintaining its adhesion, colour and surface integrity if it is to provide effective long-term identification and separation of working areas.
Aspartech LINE-MARKER has been formulated to provide excellent resistance to many of the chemicals commonly encountered in industrial, commercial and vehicle environments.
The table below summarises the performance of Aspartech LINE-MARKER following 1-hour and 24-hour exposure to a range of commonly encountered chemicals.

Aggressive Chemicals
While Aspartech LINE-MARKER offers outstanding resistance to a broad range of chemicals, prolonged contact with highly aggressive substances should always be avoided where possible.
Testing showed that:
-
DOT 4 synthetic brake fluid caused surface etching after 24 hours of continuous exposure.
-
Hydrochloric acid also caused surface etching after 24 hours of continuous exposure.
Importantly, neither chemical caused visible damage after a 1-hour exposure period, demonstrating that accidental spills can generally be cleaned before any permanent effect occurs.
Good Housekeeping Practice
Although Aspartech LINE-MARKER provides excellent chemical resistance, good housekeeping remains essential. Chemical spills should always be cleaned as soon as practical, particularly aggressive acids, brake fluids and other reactive substances. Prompt removal not only protects the coating but also helps maintain a safe working environment and reduces slip hazards.
Under normal operating conditions, Aspartech LINE-MARKER provides a durable, hygienic and highly chemical-resistant finish that is well suited to demanding commercial and industrial environments where regular cleaning and occasional chemical exposure are expected.
Application Instructions
Correct mixing is critical to the successful application and performance of Aspartech LINE-MARKER. The system is supplied as two pre-weighed components containing the correct proportions for a complete 5 kg kit:
Part A: 4.200 kg – 84%
Part B: 0.800 kg – 16%
Total: 5.000 kg – 100%
Part A is the pigmented resin component and Part B is the clear hardener.

❶ Ensure the correct Parts A and B are available and that both containers are sealed and undamaged. Establish a clean mixing area protected against accidental spills. Avoid storing or mixing the product in direct sunlight, as increased material temperature can reduce working time.
❷ Remove the lid from Part A and pre-mix for approximately 60 seconds using a low-speed drill mixer fitted with a helix mixing paddle. Move the mixer around the sides and bottom of the container to ensure pigments and additives are completely reincorporated.
❸ Remove the lid and tamper-evident collar from Part B and carefully add the complete contents to the pre-mixed Part A. Ensure as much material as practicable is transferred from the Part B container.
❹ Submerge the mixer head into the combined material and mix at a controlled medium speed for approximately 60 seconds. Move the mixer around the sides and bottom of the container to produce a completely homogeneous mixture.
At temperatures below approximately 10°C, increased viscosity may require the mixing period to be extended to approximately 90 seconds.
Avoid excessive mixing speeds, which can cause splashing and introduce unnecessary air into the material.
❺ Following mixing, allow the material to stand for approximately 60 seconds to assist the release of entrapped air before application.
Before mixing, all lines, symbols and demarcation areas should be accurately measured and prepared using suitable templates, stencils and masking tape. The application area should be completely ready before Parts A and B are combined.
Important
Once Parts A and B have been combined, the curing reaction has begun. Mixed material should not be retained in the container for longer than necessary.
NOTE: Material held in bulk can generate heat through an exothermic reaction, accelerating the cure and significantly reducing the available working time.

Aspartech LINE-MARKER has a typical mixed pot life of approximately 20–30 minutes, depending upon material and ambient temperature. Higher temperatures will reduce the available working time, while lower temperatures will generally increase viscosity and extend the curing period.
❻ Pour an appropriate quantity of mixed Aspartech LINE-MARKER onto the prepared application area and distribute evenly using a suitable roller, squeegee or trowel. For lines and defined demarcation areas, work carefully within the previously positioned masking tape, stencil or template to maintain clean, straight edges.
Maintain a wet edge wherever adjoining areas are being coated and avoid excessive reworking once the material begins to cure, as this can result in roller, squeegee or tool marks in the finished surface. Where necessary, a spiked roller can be used shortly after application to assist with the release of entrapped air.
❼ Remove masking tape while the coating remains sufficiently fluid to produce a clean edge. Do not allow Aspartech LINE-MARKER to fully cure before removing masking materials, as this may damage or tear the finished edge.
Tools and equipment should be cleaned regularly using Aspartech ZERO-SOL before the material cures. Once cured, Aspartech LINE-MARKER can only be removed mechanically.
Cure Time
The curing rate of Aspartech LINE-MARKER is influenced primarily by material, ambient and substrate temperature. The ideal application temperature is between approximately 15°C and 25°C.
Lower temperatures will extend curing times, while higher temperatures will accelerate the reaction and reduce available working time.
The following table provides typical curing and return-to-service times across the recommended application temperature range. These times are provided as a guide and may vary depending upon actual substrate temperature, material temperature, application thickness and environmental conditions.

Fast Return to Service
Under normal application temperatures of 15°C to 25°C, Aspartech LINE-MARKER can typically be:
-
Tack free in just 1 hour
-
Recoated after approximately 2 hours
-
Walked on after around 3 hours
-
Returned to heavy service after 12 hours
-
Fully chemically resistant within 24 days
This rapid cure profile makes Aspartech LINE-MARKER particularly well suited to warehouses, manufacturing facilities, food production areas, healthcare environments, retail premises and commercial buildings where downtime must be kept to an absolute minimum.

Important Guidance
The cure times shown are intended as a guide only. Actual curing performance will vary depending on substrate temperature, ambient temperature, relative humidity, coating thickness and site ventilation.
Cold concrete substrates can significantly extend cure times, even where the air temperature appears suitable, while warmer conditions will generally accelerate the curing process.
For the best balance of application time, finish quality and curing performance, Aspartech LINE-MARKER should ideally be applied at 17°C onto a clean, dry and suitably prepared substrate.
Coverage Rate
The coverage rate of Aspartech LINE-MARKER will vary depending upon the texture, profile and porosity of the substrate.
A smooth, sealed surface requires less material to achieve a consistent coating than a rough, textured or porous substrate. For this reason, coverage should always be considered in relation to the condition of the surface being coated.
Aspartech LineMarker 5kg:
● Aspartech BASE=4m²
● Smooth surface=4m²
● Textured surface=3m²
● Porous surface=2m²
These figures should be considered typical rather than guaranteed coverage rates. Actual consumption will depend upon substrate profile, porosity, application method, required film thickness and normal application losses.
For applications requiring accurately defined lines, the quantity of Aspartech LINE-MARKER required can be calculated from the total line length × line width, with an appropriate allowance made for the condition of the substrate and application wastage.
Product Storage
Aspartech LINE-MARKER contains isocyanates and the advice contained in the products Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is of particular importance.
Good standards of industrial hygiene should be observed when handling this product. Protective gloves and goggles should be worn when handling the containers. The recommendations made in the Health and Safety data sheet for this product should always be observed.
