A Genuine UK Manufacturer

We are also increasingly unusual in another important respect: we actually formulate and manufacture products here in the UK.

​

Star Uretech is not simply an importer, distributor or brand owner. We employ experienced chemists, operate our own laboratory and manufacturing facilities and continually invest in the equipment, people and expertise required to develop and manufacture specialist chemical products.

Our in-house R&D capabilities allow us to investigate new technologies, improve existing formulations and develop products around genuine customer and industry requirements.

Being close to the chemistry also means we understand our products.

​

We know what they can do and, equally importantly, what they can't do. We would rather give a customer an honest answer than recommend a product simply because we want to make the sale.

That combination of UK formulation, UK manufacturing, technical expertise and direct supply gives us an unusually complete understanding of the products and markets in which we operate.

Our products and services are divided into three principal brands, each representing a specialist area of the Star Uretech business.

StarFix – Construction Adhesives & Raised Access Flooring

StarFix encompasses our specialist construction adhesive and tanking technologies, predominantly developed for the raised access flooring industry.

​

Our experience within this sector has allowed us to develop adhesives, membranes, sealers and associated systems specifically around the requirements of modern raised access flooring installations. Rather than accepting the limitations of older technologies, our approach has been to identify their shortcomings and use modern chemistry to develop products that are easier to use, more reliable and increasingly considerate of people and the environment.

StarPolymers – Specialist Surfacing & Flooring

StarPolymers brings together our specialist surfacing and resin flooring technologies.

​

This includes our BBA HAPAS Certified high-friction surfacing system for highways and infrastructure applications together with our Aspartech range of advanced industrial and commercial floor coatings. The range reflects our philosophy of using modern polymer chemistry to improve upon traditional technologies, delivering high-performance systems designed around durability, application, environmental considerations and long-term value.

StarToll – Development, Formulation & Manufacturing

StarToll represents another side of Star Uretech that many people may never realise exists.

​

Through StarToll, we provide specialist product development, chemical formulation, pilot scaling, toll manufacturing, quality control, testing, packaging, branding, documentation, stockholding and distribution services for other businesses. We manufacture products on behalf of customers under their own brands, meaning there is every possibility that people have encountered products developed or manufactured by Star Uretech without ever seeing our name on the container.

From an initial idea or laboratory formulation through to commercial manufacture and ongoing supply, StarToll allows our chemistry and manufacturing expertise to work behind the scenes for other companies and brands.

Products We Are Prepared to Stand Behind

We believe trust has to be earned.

​

That is why we aim to be transparent about product performance and avoid making claims that cannot be properly supported.

​

If one of our products is not suitable for a customer's particular application, we would rather say so than make the sale.

​

Our technical team works closely with customers to understand their requirements and recommend the most appropriate solution. That approach may occasionally mean telling someone that we are not the right supplier for a particular project, but we believe long-term relationships built on honesty are considerably more valuable than short-term sales.

​

The same principle applies to environmental performance. Where we make claims about VOCs, sustainability, durability or other environmental characteristics, our objective is to support them with meaningful technical information rather than rely on fashionable terminology.

We do not see commercial performance, technical innovation and responsible business as competing objectives.

A durable product can reduce replacement and lifecycle costs. Better chemistry can reduce hazards and environmental impact. Efficient manufacturing can reduce waste and energy consumption.
