Single-Component Systems

Single-component products can offer significant advantages to the end user, particularly where simplicity, consistency and ease of application are important.

​

StarToll has extensive experience in the manufacture of single-component polyurethane (1K PU) systems, including moisture-curing technologies used across adhesive, coating, sealing and specialist industrial applications.

​

Our experience with moisture-sensitive chemistry, combined with capabilities such as controlled manufacturing processes and nitrogen topping, allows us to manufacture and package these systems with the specialist handling they require.

​

Two-Component Systems

StarToll can manufacture a wide variety of two-component (2K) reactive systems, where separate components are combined immediately before application.

​

These systems can be supplied in correctly proportioned pack sizes to provide a complete ready-to-mix product.

​

Our experience includes two-component polyurethane, polyurea, coating, adhesive, flooring and other reactive technologies, with each component manufactured and quality controlled according to its individual requirements.

Multi-Component Systems

Some specialist applications require more than two components.

​

StarToll can manufacture and assemble multi-component systems, incorporating combinations of resins, hardeners, additives, aggregates, fillers, pigments or other components to create a complete packaged system.

​

This is particularly relevant to specialist flooring, surfacing and repair products where the performance of the finished system depends upon several separately manufactured or supplied components working together.

​

Polyaspartic Systems

StarToll has particular experience with polyaspartic technology, including high-performance coatings and flooring systems.

​

Polyaspartics can provide an exceptional combination of rapid cure, durability, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance and low-temperature performance. Their reactive nature, however, requires careful formulation and controlled manufacture.

​

Our chemistry, production and quality-control capabilities allow us to manufacture two-component and multi-component polyaspartic systems and supply the individual components in the appropriate ratios and packaging formats.

Polyurea Systems

Our capabilities also extend to polyurea technologies, including specialist coating, flooring, repair and protective systems.

​

These highly reactive chemistries can provide exceptional performance but require an understanding of both their formulation and practical manufacturing characteristics.

​

StarToll's combination of experienced polymer chemists and specialist production equipment provides the technical foundation required to develop and manufacture these demanding systems.

Water-Based Systems

Not every product needs complex reactive chemistry.

​

StarToll can also manufacture water-based formulations and blends, ranging from relatively straightforward mixed products through to more sophisticated formulated systems.

​

Our flexible mixing and dispersion equipment allows liquids, powders, pigments, fillers and additives to be incorporated according to the requirements of the individual formulation.

​

Water-based technology can also provide an important route when developing products with low odour, low VOC or improved environmental characteristics.

​

The chemistries available through StarToll can be used to manufacture an extensive variety of finished products.

From Simple Blends to Complex Reactive Chemistry

One of the key strengths of StarToll is the ability to manufacture products with very different requirements within the same specialist organisation.

At one end of the spectrum, a project may involve a simple water-based blend. At the other, it may require a carefully formulated multi-component reactive polymer system, manufactured in separate stages, extensively quality controlled and assembled into a complete commercial kit.

Our equipment, laboratory facilities and manufacturing processes allow us to select an appropriate production route for each.
