Product Description

Description

StarFix ACOUSTIC is a two-component, solvent free, polyurethane, sound and vibration damping, adhesive system specially formulated for use with access flooring pedestals. The material is specially formulated to provide a sound and vibration damping effect by forming a viscoelastic layer between the pedestal and the substrate.

Installation

Installation

StarFix ACOUSTIC can be mixed by using a drill stirrer in approximately 6.5kg ‘kits’. Once mixed it is then applied to the base of the pedestal using a serrated spreader or trowel. Mixing should take place by stirring of the ‘B’ component into the ’A’ component and continuing to stir until mixed. Full mixing should take no more than 120 seconds with the correct equipment.

The material remains in a mobile, liquid form for approximately 4-5 hours, after which the material sets into a soft solid, getting progressively harder over a period of a few days.

Packaging

Packaging

StarFix ACOUSTIC is available as a 6.5kg kit containing two, pre-measured components, both held within a 20 litre plastic bucket.

Handling

Handling and Storage

Good standards of industrial hygiene should be observed when handling all components.  The use of protective gloves is highly recommended and users should consider the use of goggles if splashing during mixing is a possibility. The recommendations made in the Health and Safety data sheet for this product should be observed at all times.  StarFix ACOUSTIC Part ‘A’ contains 4,4’-Diphenylmethane diisocyanate and the advice contained in the products Safety Data Sheet is of particular importance.
